ChanSes R is the leading recycling facility in Mackay. At ChanSes R residents and local industry are offered the opportunity to dispose of no longer needed household and commercial items, generally at no charge.

Most items are suitable for recycling in one way or another. For example the timber from old doors or pallets we re-use on site for the building and sale of kennels; glass is turned into fish tanks and old clothing cleaned and cut for use as industrial rags. Old boats are sold as children’s sandpits and lawn mowers turned in to billy carts.

Much of the stock is in a state of readiness for immediate re-use, and it is fair to say we have a much larger range of goods than any other retailer in North Queensland. We have a great array of home wares, furniture, white goods, gym equipment, bicycles, building and plumbing materials.

If it has been invented, the odds are that we will have at least one!

A significant part of our business is achieved through the selling of scrap metals; old iron sheeting, galvanised piping and even old, non working white goods are examples of what we sell to help finance ChanSes R.

All of this seemingly worthless rubbish is of benefit to us and in the long run, to the community. Remember, there is generally no charge to you when dropping your donation in to us.

Everything donated is another step towards reducing landfill and enhancing our environment. Every dollar earned from sales is generated back in to the business, creating working solutions and training vacancies for those in need of assistance.

Rare collectables, antiques, memorabilia, artworks of varying description and a variety of furnishings regularly come through our gates. These more valuable pieces appear in the magic of the Carousel Room – all available at competitive and realistic prices.

We have refurbished some items and made them ready for immediate use; others we have left in a “raw” condition for the home enthusiast to lovingly restore.
